Not as good as his other short tales The book gets off to a really good start, I managed to read (and thoroughly enjoy) one light hearted story a night (quite an achievement with a little baby about), nice size managable little reads for a busy person.
Unfortunately the last three stories in the book were very poor, almost pointless. In fact, I fail to see why the last three were included at all as they really dont flow with the rest of the book and really do let it down.
Give his other short stories a go, I think his first two... more info
A good read with a twist !! This book is easy to read not hard going or too taxing.I didn't want to put it down until I found the twist at the end of each tale. Full of wonderful illustrations.Definately recommended, a great read.
Top class as usual As usual Archer writes up each story with panache and does not fail to disappoint the reader. This collection is based on his prison experience so covers a class of society he doesn't always have access to in his otherwise high society life. But he still manages to gild each tale with the usual small twists and turns that make his work so enjoyable.
Not so good, really Jeff--you ain't no John Mortimore.
(And I have narrated this book in the Library of Congress's program of recorded books for the blind.)
