Enjoyable and ridiculously written nonsense! So many reviews! I've had almost as much of a giggle reading a few as I have the book itself. I have to say I feel sorry for those coming to his reading for the first time via this one. At least the rest of us know what to expect and to discover you can't bear him AND the story is left in limbo must be deeply frustrating. What I do like about him is that he is unashamedly unapologetic about bending all rules to suit him, from grammatical to the laws of physics. He is of the "never apologise, never explain"... more info
Laughable nonsense Dear oh dear, Matthew Reilly really has created a corker with this book. A corker of nonsense. The plot is laughable, the characters paper thin, the writing like a school essay, and there are continuing factual errors. It's clear that he did no research for this book: for example, he might like to know that aircraft are not made out of steel (hence, you can't use magnets to climb up to the tail), that you can't use Sat Phones to make a call when you are in a cave (nor can you get normal radio reception... more info
six sacred stones I am an avid reader of all books and have read 2 of this author's previous books and although implausible I have enjoyed them. This book the Six Sacred Stones,is one of the worst book I have read, and I was very disappointed. The writing style is poor and written like a school essay, with occasional excitement spoilt by poor style and content. It could have been written in 100 pages. I certainly will not be reading any sequel.
pathetic Reilly comments at the end of the book that he wanted to create a Lord Of The Rings type epic. How he has the audacity to mention this book in the same breath as the above defeats me.
