worst book I have read in a long time I found this book appalling, and not at all what I expected. Also everyone describes it as comic - I am afraid I didnt laugh once. highly recommended This novel was a treat to read; we are led by an expert guide into a funny, all-too-human world of muddle, good intentions, minor disasters, emotional upheaval, all of it seen in a light that is both compassionate and satirical.

Superb, accomplished, funny and moving novel It's rare these days to read such an accomplished novel. WWWB is witty and full of strong, memorable characters. And unlike many contemporary novels which start strong and peter out this one builds and builds and becomes even more engaging and gripping in the last third. My wife and I both read it through very quickly and have already begun her previous novels as a result. Here's hoping the still very young - she's only 35! - Charlotte Mendelson continues to produce such wonderful novels.
