Wow I read this book in one evening. It was absolutely gripping; it even stopped me from revising which probably isn't a good thing but it's a testament to the quality of the book. a fascinating read Crusade is a terrific read. It's the story of two boys - one in the Holy Land and one heading for the Holy Land as part of Richard the Lionheart's Crusade. Gradually their lives converge and they meet. It's a life-changing meeting. This author is always so good at historical detail, and I learnt such a lot about a conflict which has all kinds of similarities and links with what's going on in the Middle East today. Very well worth reading for the excellent story as well as the light it sheds.
