Conversations with God started when the author in the midst of a frustrating low-point in his life wrote a letter to God and was replied to. The book takes the format of the author questioning and God answering him. The theme that runs continually through the book is to remember our divine origins. Walsch's book makes God accessible in an almost secular way, different to our Bible-based one. An immediate, humorous, "guy next door kinda God" reminding us of basic truths. The book is written for Westerners and is practical and daily-life oriented, with answers on sexuality, money, relationships and health amongst many others. Conversations with God has the potential to reprogramme you to see the divine and spirituality in a totally new light.
The question to be asked is "is this really God?" and indeed Walsch asks it and is replied: "What difference does it make? Even if everything I've said is 'wrong', can you think of a better way to live?" "No" replies Walsch and if you are searching for spiritual answers and have not found your traditional distant God helpful, then this book could be for you. --Peter Lloyd

Answered so many of my questions - mesmerising, challenging and thought-provoking! Book 1
An amazing book! It was recommended by a friend, and so I thought I would read it to see if it would give me any new insights into the age-old questions about the purpose of life etc. I didn't really know what to expect, but it blew me away! It's a conversation between an ordinary man called Neale Donald Walsch (with a lot of problems in his life) and God (you may not accept that it's 'God' talking, but then that's up to you) and it's written in a very easy to read style. Remember who you are This book is the most astounding book I have ever read. I cried and laughed while reading it. I dont care what any body say, I think it was God talking through Neale. the things He comes out with is too far fetched for Him not to be God.
While reading this book I felt myself saying YES as if my soul was rejoicing, for as he said, "We are not learning anything we are only remembering". I think those of us who believe in what is said here, should be messengers of the truth for if we know the truth it... more info
Astounding! This is a book you should read, whether or not you have any religious beliefs. Yes, it's comical to think that the author would be having a 'conversation with God', and I was sceptical too, when I was first introduced to the book. However, even if you don't believe in a 'God' of any kind, or believe that Neale Donald Walsch has had a conversation with such a God, what the book says makes a lot of sense anyway. Tools for being creative. Powerful message and insight into the role of human beings and how we can improve our creative potential in daily life. The author argues to have received the messages in this book through 'automatic writing' experiment. 'Automatic writing' is well known method for clearing the mind from daily distractions and allowing it to 'open up' to empowering ideas (See Surrealism as well as the poet WB Yeats). The book is an experiment: If you get powerful feelings while reading it, then it works for you.
