Indispensable I saw this book at a friend's and was hooked! I ordered several for Christmas presents and they were really well received. Once you start reading all the handy hints and tips you can't stop. It's indispensable in the kitchen but it makes great bedtime reading as well. What a great idea to freeze lemon and lime slices in ice cubes - ready to pop into drinks.
A bible of practical wisdom This is an absolute gem of a book. It is brimful of all those useful tips you cut out of magazines and then can never find when you need them and it is so much more besides. It is a fascinating read and a book you can dip into for an odd half-hour as well as an invaluable reference, whether you want to fix, clean, cook, garden, book a cheap flight, arrange a telegram from the Queen, sort out any nagging problem, forage for mushrooms, keep chickens....the list is endless.
