Review by a 7-year-old This book is set in a toy shop in England. The story is in two parts. The main characters are the toymaker Matthew, his daugther Mary and Mary's granddaughter Jane. Reality into a dream My six-to-seven year old son liked it so much he wanted to translate it into our mothertongue - and did, adding his own drawings under the influence of Terry Milne's. The Toymaker has its very own magic This story in two parts contains its own magic. It is a beautiful story with amazing discoveries by the main characters. It invokes many memories of childhood toys, their value and meaning to the owner. It unveils the efforts made by the adults to produce toys with such love for their children. The illustrations are enchanting and I somehow wish I was a child again.
