A totally absorbing read A warm hearted, captivating story of life in liverpool during the blitz. You feel as though you are actually involved in the story, as the characters are so warm and friendly. Eileen Gilmoss is a marvellous character, chubby full of fun, but also very caring and generous to all her frinds especially Mary who finds herself in quite a pickle,it's to Eileen she turns to for help and advice.Then we meet Eileens mum who cares for Eileens children whilst she works to help the war effort, and to supplement her... more info
