  • Zany and bursting with good humour
At first I felt too old to enjoy this, as I wasn't sure I'd be able to relate to a bunch of college teens. It reminded me a little of the American Pie films only better and that comparison is not intended as a criticism. However, in spite of my initial reservations, it really grew and grew on me and as I read on and got immersed in more and more mad capers it struck me as being really funny and nostalgic. The book has a great group of characters - Natie and Ziba being amongst my favourites and who wouldn't... more info

  • I loved it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this read, full of drama, action, teenage mischief, madness, dissapointment, and excitement.
Definately reccomended, and I shall be reading more from Marc Acito

  • A 1980s teen movie in book format, but better
This novel deserves the good reviews it's getting. It's got the feel of a John Hughes 80s teen movie in book format, but with a lot more depth and a few more twists to boot. Somehow it manages all the feel good moments, some genuine surprises, and maintains a bunch of believable and engaging characters throughout a series of increasingly farcical situations involving stolen Buddhas, Frank Sinatra and crazy embezzling Austrian mothers-in-law. A fun read.

  • Suprisingly Brilliant.
I bought this as a holiday read just because the blurb sounded good but it's quickly become one of my favourite books. It's hilarious, outrageous, clever and actually kind of sweet. If you liked Ferris Bueller's Day Off, then you'll probably adore this. It's a feel-good novel with none of the schmaltz. It doesn't take itself to seriously at all, and it's a darn good read. The only downside is that Acito hasn't written any more.
