brilliant AND unique People have said that this book is similar to the likes of harry potter. it is notrhing of the sort. The plot is new and original with satasfying moments throughout the book. the way angie sage uses a completely new method for casting spells while being confusing at first can only be described as risky but worth it. amazing book and the rest of the series are also on a par with this book, if not better. 5 stars.

In two week we have read the first three in the series and can't wait to get started on book four. The humour and the suspense of the books keeps the children motivated and reaching for the next page. Can not recommend Anige Sage and Septimus Heap enough

Unoriginal Although this book can be quite funny it steals a lot from Harry Potter, and even Terry Pratchett. The Heaps, for instance, are quite obviously the Weaslies.
