Vegetables and nudity! Who could ask for anything more? I have read many excellent vegetarian cookbooks, not to mention guides to carnal congress for hairy people. But this combines the two most excellently. However, I would not recommend following the example of the bearded gentleman on page 146, especially what he's doing with the artichoke. My wife attempted that, and she now resembles the drummer from Radiohead. It is for that reason that I award only four stars. Now, where's that parsnip?
A Must! This edition makes the old Avery and Macintosh volumes look like the unfortunate and forgettable McKinley and Keyes editions from the 70s. You remember those--all that hair. But that's all in the past, isn't it? Best to move along...Regardless, this copy is wonderful, words and text arranged from top to bottom, left to right as is the custom. I would suggest page 17s recipe (and my personal favorite)"The Magician". A wonderful taste, not unlike licking sawdust from a stainless steel butterknife.
Tasty meat products Potatos are great but I miss the protein from meat. Because of this book my liver is failing. But the recipes are so good I would rather die from malnutrition from lack of protein than own any other book.
marvelous I loved avery thing about this book is delicious. I have not yet tried all the recipes are used to cook food. I'm glad I bought this book, because I usually forget things. Having it all there in print is a swell idea. Tasty?
