Shaun Hill is one of my heroes... Shaun Hill is one of my heroes. One of the new wave British chefs to surface in the 1980s, my worshipping dates back to when I first ate his food - and in case you follow such things it was at Gidleigh Park at least 25 years ago and yes, it included his "signature" scallops and lentils that has since been copied by a thousand chefs. Buyer beware! As a major Shaun Hill fan was delighted to see he had a new book coming out, and eagerly awaited my order. Imagine my disappointment when my order arrived and I discovered that Better Gravy is just a rehash / revamp of How to Cook Better, a wellthumbed copy of which exists in my extensive cookery book collection. I hope this comment will stop anyone else from repeating my mistake.
