Disappointing I bought this book thinking it would have a good guide to creating sensible shopping lists and meal plans - in reality it helped me with neither. There are only 6 sides of paper devoted to shopping plans (pages 6-11 inclusive) and these are no brainers. All the receipes pages are devoted to evening meals only (main entree and desert), there are no breakfast or lunch ideas. Recipes are also mostly geared to USA market. Hmmmm...!!! I bought this book a couple of months ago and it is a superb idea and potentially very convenient. However some of the recipes are not very palatable or simply don't work! ( the cooking time for the Meatlof recipe is a great example)...this book works...but I just didn't like alot of the recipes!
An Excellent Cookery Book This book is brilliant for men! Firstly it has a weekly shopping list and then it tells you how to cook everything, Simple! At the house im living in there are 4 of us sharing and we all put around 20 quid in total in the pot each week, one of us goes shopping and then we all take turns in cooking. Its good food and really cheap too! Thanks!
Great Book for Busy People and a "Must Have" for Kids Just Leaving Home! When I received "Budget Meals" I thought it looked similar to many other cookbooks I already own, but my opinion changed when I opened it up and read the contents page. Here really is a book that does what it says on the cover, it provides recipes for meals that you can make on a budget - and not only that, it gives you weekly shopping lists for each suggested weekly meal plan so that you can even budget your housekeeping accordingly!
