Editorial Review:
A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge was a quick follow-up no one was exactly happy with. However this deserves some credit for trying to extend rather than repeat the original storyline. As opposed to the resourceful heroines of all the other Elm Street films, this is the one about the troubled male teenager worried that Freddy is out to possess his body and make his way back to reality. It's shot through with a heavy handed gay subtext, with male bodies ogled and sliced (for a change), stuck with a few truly ridiculous moments (the exploding budgie) and lapses into incoherence, but it opens with a great school bus sequence and makes the most of the infernal boiler room of Freddy's soul. With Clu Gulager and Hope Lange. Directed by Jack Sholder (The Hidden). -- Kim Newman

It makes sense when you're drunk This is really one of those films you have to watch when drunk with your friends, as that's the only way you're going to get any enjoyment out of it whatsoever. Let's start from the beginning. This film takes place about five years after the first one, when a new family (with new "hero" Jesse) moves into Nancy's house. He starts to be haunted by Freddy in his dreams. Standard NoES material. Then we find out that, for no readily apparent reason, Freddy has now gained control of fire and loves nothing... more info
GIVE IT A CHANCE Teenage Jesse Walsh (Mark Patton) isn't like most teens. He and his family, mom Cheryl (Hope Lange) dad Ken (Clu Gulager) and his younger sister have just moved into the cursed house on Elm Street; he and the local high school jock Ron Grady (Robert Rusler) butt heads constantly; and he has horrific nightmares about a gloved maniac (Robert Englund) that cause him to wake up screaming every morning. His friend Lisa (Kim Myers) is worried about him, and doesn't know what to do. Jesse keeps insisting he's... more info
Three, four, better lock the door Better than most people say, I really enjoyed this movie which was just as good as the origional. Freddy returns to try and posses the body of a boy named Jesse who has just moved into the house in which Nancy lived in in the first Nightmare on Elm Street. A very good slasher movie, gorey and scary, which I would recomend to all Freddy fans.
Freddy was great!!
