probably not worth the bother the end of the lens rotates, so this hood cannot have the nice petal shape. it also has to cope with the full range of focal lengths. after all these compromises, it probably is not worth the bother - it does not offer much shade for the lens. one also has to wonder why canon cannot just bundle the hood with the lens.
