  Passed uncut on the 17th march 2008 by the bbfc so should see a re release soon hold off buying this movie till the uncut version is released.

• Cant Figure This Film Out!!
  i purchased this film after people listing it as a good video nasty..why??ive got the american version of this film, so its uncut, i really cant understand the deal with this film, alright in 72 this probably was shocking, there are no scenes in this that really startle me and i would think most viewers wouldnt be startled either, still, it was an alright watch..

  Yes thats right i've only given this masterpiece 4 stars due to how heavily censored this disc is.
  However cuts apart the special features are really stunning on this presentation with so much background history of the film and interviews with the cast etc. What you have to remember is that Craven & Cunningham had no intention of ever releasing this and were just using it as an experiment on how to make a film.

• Cult classic...not scary, still essential
  Being a big horror/cult film fan, I was really looking forward to seeing this film - yes, that meant waiting until the cut DVD was released here in UK rather than buying abroad as Im not sure if my DVD player plays region1!
  I was slightly dissapointed, only because of the massive controversy the film has received in the past leads you to believe its far worse than it really is...ok, so its not easy to watch, but there are many films these days with just as many, if not more explicitly gory scenes. As... more info
