Editorial Review:
The new microphone ECM-719 by Sony with Electret capacitor is really tiny. It offers you 2 recording modes (music/voice), and has an autonomy of 100 hours with just a lithium battery. Compatible models: MZ-N10, MZ-NF810CK, MZ-RH10, MZ-RH910.

works well when and where it works I bought this mic about two years ago to improve recording quality on sessions I needed to record on a tape recorder (pre-historic, but good quality Panasonic walk-man size recorder) and I achieved very good sound quality at high sensitivity, using the activated mic function (on battery), although pick-up was reasonable without activation.
I then did not use it for quite a while, until I joined the modern world with a digital voice recorder (Olympus) and proudly tried to improve the quite impressive... more info
Very expensive to pack up so soon !!! As another reviewer has said, it just packs up working on one channel for no reason after a year or so of use. I got 2 years and I treated it well. Don't expect any answers from Sony, they don't even bother to reply. My next mic won't be a Sony either. It works well, as people say - nice clear crisp reproduction ... until it doesn't and then you feel the recordings were rather more expensive than you'd budgetted on!
Good if used with the proper equipment. I use a Sony MZ-NH1 Hi-MD recorder with this mic, so far I have been able to produce some very clear recordings. This kind of mic should only ever be used with a mic-in socket. My Mini Disc has this, as well as an option to increase sensitivity in the unit menu. I find using the battery is unnecessary, the plug in power produces great recordings.
Stereo output stopped working Really liked the microphone until this week - have had it for little over a year, and the stereo output has stopped working.
Was disappointed a bit, and my next mic won't be a Sony.
