This professional narrow grater has a comfortable black ABS handle. Eight inches long, available in fine or extra coarse. Each tooth is composed of many tiny blades for effortless, even grating. Choose from fine, coarse, extra coarse, ribbon, small shaver or large shaver (most graters are 10 inches long including handle - the fine shaver has an extra long handle and measures 13.5 inches). All blade sizes 5 x 2.25 inches. Microplane graters use a patented chemical process rather than a stamping process to etch supersharp cutting teeth. Doesn't live up to the hype! Having seen several celebrity chefs extolling the virtues of these graters I decided they must be worth their high price. What a disappointment! The teeth become clogged and are difficult to clean, the slider sticks and is awkward to use, and an apple was not grated but reduced to an unappetising brown mush. Don't bother!
