Editorial Review:
The quality of a Microplane Grater speaks for itself. The Fine Spice Grater from the Microplane Professional Series is made from surgical grade steel and also features a non slip rubber foot which prevents the grater from slippng whilst in use. Makes grating citrus fruit, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger to name but a few quick, easy and enjoyable.

It is over twelve years since Canadian cook Penny Gray discovered the perfect tool for zesting citrus fruit - among her husband's wood working tools Microplane made it's epic journey from the workshop to the kitchen The small, chemically etched blades are as effective with garlic, chocolate, cheese, nutmeg and apple as with the zest of lemon that fell from the plane Penny used back in 1994

Keep it handy This is one of those kitchen gadgets that you find using over and over. The superfine grating action is superb and the finish is of the highest quality. Do you use a garlic press? I use this to grate garlic to produce a fine paste with no mess and no waste.
A little diamond I agree with the previous reviewer, I've has two plastic handled ones that have snapped. The metal one is much more resilient, but be extra careful with it, it is razor sharp.
Best grater The Microplane graters are all good but I have found that the ones with plastic surrounds do not last all that long, particularly if you put them in the dishwasher (they are supposed to be dishwasher-proof). This all stainless-steel version is by far the best available. I have had one for over two years now, using it several times a week, and it is as good as new.
