Editorial Review:
The Chasseur Cast Iron range has been manufactured to the highest standards by skilled craftsmen, using time honoured techniques at our foundry in the Champagne Ardennes region of France, for over 70 years. Today these age old techniques have been updated, using modern technology where possible, to ensure that the foundry is able to produce consistently top quality products whilst reducing the environmental impact on their surrounding area. The environmental issues have been addressed through the recycling of both raw materials and materials used in the manufacture as well as the installation of a super efficient furnace with a sophisticated filtering system, making it one of the cleanest in Europe.

Heavy but becoming essential equipment Don't know about how you meaties cook, but my interest in this pan was purely in reducing the fat content of an occasional indulgence in fried vegetables. I snapped one up when it hit half price and after 3 days I'm still very happy with it. It is heavy though- and because it doesn't have a long handle I found it really difficult to pick up when it was hot- I'm used to a Le Creuset frying pan so it's really just how the centre of gravity works out that makes it awkward to pick up one handed. Ideal for creating those distinctive char-grill lines the 'Chasseur' Grill-Pan (Poêles-Grill). Ideal for even more healthy cooking of meat, fish and vegetables and the ribbed base gives those seared char-grilled markings.
Complete with a cast handle, it is suitable for all heat sources, including induction.
Dishwasher safe but just as easy to wash up by hand following the care instructions booklet supplied, which also includes a recipe idea for each product range.
Assist handle aids balanced lifting but don't forget your oven... more info
The Aston Martin of Kitchen Pans!! After dropping lots of heavy hints I was lucky enough to get the chasseur grill pan for my birthday. Now that I have one I could not imagine my life without it (my obssession doesn't quite run to taking the pan to bed...not yet). The first time I used the pan I used a small amount of olive oil as with a normal frying pan but it didn't give me the results I was looking for. Since then I have found that you get the best results if you just season your meat/fish and place it on the pan (making sure it is... more info
First class Grill Pan at a "grab it while you can" price I read an article in Oct 3 Sunday Times STYLE section, p.75 "Steak out" and decided to follow "how to cook a steak properly". It required using a cast-iron griddle. I found this one on Amazon and have been using it daily for almost a week. It gives superb results if used properly. At first I was a bit hesitant to get it smoking as per instructions but that is how it's supposed to be (they never told me that in catering college some 30 years ago!) and once you get used to it it produces excellent... more info
