Rio Cali Found the review by C Atherton by chance. I am no.3 on his list. Needless to say I am very happy with mine; it's still working without a problem July 2007. The device is a bit on the large size by today's standards but it has proved to be very robust despite being dropped a couple of times. I use it almost every day (if only to mask the grumbling from Chris) and find it very easy to use with excellent sound. The radio works OK but since the headphones act as the aerial it can be a bit of hit and miss... more info
Sorry to bring the bad news but... I bought this lovely little device a while back now, well actually, i bought 4 from America, they were the yellow model, think it was the rio cali chiba or something like that... anyway, a guy I work with came back from the stated (im from england) and said how brilliant these things are... so i bought 4! I was really happy with the new gadget being so funky looking and robust looking... Robost looking? Yes... ACTUALLY robust... hmmm I don't think so... Rio #1 ~ Burnt out within a few days, frying... more info
Rio Cali Sport This gadget is great. Once I sussed out how to rip my CD's which can be easily done with Windows media (is compatable with Rio). I have got over 50 songs on (with lots of memory still not yet used) and it is more than enough for the gym doing an hours workout. It is robust and feels very solid and the playback is great. Takes a while to get used to the headphones but once you do the fit is fine. The screen is large enough for me to read. If I a 50 year old can use this product to its maximum capacity anyone... more info
Alright for sport people, probably not for tech geeks Handy to go jogging with, it is lightweigh, confortable to wear, the controls are easily accessible through clothes and the earplugs stay more or less in place while running.
I've never used it in rainy conditions (I heard negative review concerning this).
The sound quality is alright, not outstanding but having a super-high quality sound to go running (generally in a more or less noisy environment) would probably not make a lot of sense.
Features like upport for playlist and shuffle are handy too.... more info
