Poor value and dangerous I bought this kettle because it looked so sleek and shiny and I trusted the brand name Morphy Richards. After six months, the switch would not stay down and I took to holding it in order to boil water. One day I turned it on and the mains switch "tripped out": total darkness late at night and no torch handy. I went out and bought a replacement kettle. I hadn't kept the box, nor the receipt so didn't think to take the first one back. I thought it must be a one-off fault, so I purchased another Morphy... more info
DO NOT BUY IT! I bought this kettle as a present for my mother as her old kettle had given up the ghost after 15 years! I wish I had bought her something else as this one only lasted 8 months, you can only imagine my disappointment. The kettle looks good and with a brand name like Morphy Richards you would of expected more. The switch does not turn on or off which is pointless if your dying for a cuppa!

18 months and bust! I bought this kettle as I liked the sleek stainless steel look. The red switch no longer stays on and the kettle has 'given up the ghost' after an 18 month stint. It's not as if we have even used it much at all as we make real coffee using a different machine!
My last kettle (a stainless steel Alessi fake from M and S) lasted 6 years so this kettle proved to be real let down and has been sent for recycling. 18 months is not good enough - even in today's throw away society! It's a thumbs down from me!
