The 'Eon' jug kettle looks stunning on its own or alongside Kenwood's TT900 brushed aluminium toaster from the same range. It has a sleek brushed aluminium body with a plastic inner lining and a toggle switch which is illuminated for added safety.
There is an ultra-quiet concealed element which boils fast and efficiently and it is so quiet you would hardly believe it was boiling. This kettle also features an innovative cord storage system and a removable stainless steel fine mesh filter to prevent scale getting into your drink.

Fantastic looking, but poorly fittiing lid and leaks when pouring A fantastic looking kettle, but the lid doesn't fit well, and can fall off when pouring. The aluminium sleeve is fitted over the plastic body of the kettle, and when pouring, boiling water gets under the spout lip and under the aluminium sleeve, leaking out of the bottom of the kettle and onto the base and your kitchen surface. This is just irritating, and Kenwood could've easily fixed this with better sealing.
Most annoying thing in my kitchen I have owned this kettle & matching toaster for over 2 years now. Both look great, however I agree with previous reviews: The lid is difficult to put on and often falls off when pouring or pops off during boiling.
The filter is always falling into the kettle.
There is a leak.
And finally, the on/off switch has now failed such that it doesn't switch off when boiling. The toaster has given better service, except that it switches itself on when empty so we have to remember to... more info
Looks good but performs badly!! Design and finish are good however, as everyone who has reviewed the item states, problems are:
1) Leak - from base of kettle (mine started leaking just 5 months from new)which is very dangerous.
2) Lid that sometimes pops off and is not easy to put on.
3) Limescale seive that falls off.
My advice, dont order this kettle!!
Leaky and dangerous! The kettle developed a leak from it's basis within 3 months of use. It is awkward to fill and often boils it's rather flimsy lid off - spilling boiling water everywhere, even when filled to below it's maximum level.
There's no doubt it looks lovely - but as a kettle it'd well below par.
