useless tap I was debating whether to buy a smoothie maker or a blender, but decided on this product because I'd primarily be using it to make smoothies... wrong choice. The tap is pretty ineffective, as it takes about 5 minutes to fill up my glass, so I've ended up just pouring it out of the top (which is what I would have done with a blender anyway). I can't return the product as it is technically not defective, and was told to make my smoothies less thick, which sort of defeats the purpose of making a smoothie. But... more info
Leaks Ours quickly leaked through the seal at the base of the jug. Replacement seals are available from Kenwood at £4 for three PLUS £4.75 POSTAGE for something which would go in a small envelope!!!
We also had a leak around the seal of the spindle so chucked the whole thing in the bin.
Didn't last long Received the Kenwood Smoothie Maker nice and promtly. It was a birthday gift for my 2 year old who loves smoothies. We crushed the ice before placing it in the blender with the fruit, as I would suggest to anyone. It made a very nice smoothie, the only problem being after about 5 uses the tap started to split. I am in the process of getting it sent back.
Kenwood Smoothie junior, (silver). Before I ordered my smoothie maker I read reveiws which did not do do the item justice, it arrived pretty much complete, and the kids were really excited to try it, it was simple to use so I can leave the older kids to make their own drinks. Its very easy to clean, we thought the silver was better looking than the white version, it is a hit in our house. plan to buy the frothie maker next!
