Badly designed, poor customer service, lack of software backup .............. I agree with everything the review below entitles "Good Product - But Major Design Flaws and Poor Customer Srvc" has to say about customer services and design flaws, but would like to add a few more .......... Firstly, you may find that it doesn't work all of the time. There you are, happily driving along, you know where you are, your car's Sat Nav has your correct position down to the millimetre, but the Road Angel can't get a signal! Road Angel I purchased this a couple of days ago and received it the following day. I have to admit though, I was not impressed with it. At the moment it is not working, I also found out that it is the old one and not the most recent version of it. The photo that it showed was of the most up to date version but to my dispair I received an old version which I have been told it's the first one they ever brought out which is 6 years ago. Not bad at all Got mine as a xmas present and as the title says its not bad at all. The software to back it up is a bit basic, I needed to download it 3 times to get the thing working. The unit is designed very well, the packaging is nice and tidy. I would recomend hard wiring it to the ignition though because it can get a bit messy in the cockpit with the extra long wire needed to power the unit. Its brilliant to have the extra pair of eyes, and lets face it....... its an excellent toy to have.
Good Product - But Major Design Flaws and Poor Customer Srvc Overall, the Road Angel Compact is a good product. Relatively easy to install and set up. But, it does have several design flaws. For example, there is no capacity for the unit to run on batteries, meaning that it must be hooked into the cigarette lighter (or similar electrical source) at all times. Also, the actual connection is at the back of the unit, meaning that it's a pain to hook up, and has to be removed from the supporting bracket.
