Portable DVD I purchased this item quite a while ago. It has been really good in many ways, great playback, quality pictures and sound etc and very useful to carry around on flights etc when the inflight entertainment is so dire!!
BUT - even now, months later, I am UNABLE to make this device function as multi-regional. I have followed the instructions to the letter, using the remote control and it simply does not work.

Philips PET710 Probably the best budget DVD Portable on the market.
I researched very heavily before deciding on this model, based on information received from friends and top recommendation from the Gadget Show. I followed this with a lot of googling and reading. Armed with this useful stuff I finally laid down the cash and have not been disappointed!
I cant reccomend this player highly enough, it really has a great picture, sound quality is OK and the ease of use is fine.

How to 'fix' the audio-visual synching problem This is a great little player and thanks to sukanat, I've made it multi-region. I noticed the lip-synching problems and found that rewinding a few seconds seems to fix it. The synching problems don't happen with all discs and you can usually tell when it will happen as the disc will 'hiccup' a bit upon start up. A bit annoying but I prefer this rather than going through returns!
