Great design, average quality. Having used these headphones for only a few minutes I found the sound quality not as good as other Sony headphones which is disappointing considering the price of them.
My previous headphones were the Sony MDR-EX32 which are far superior and less than half the price, (I may go back to using these).
One other thing I have noticed is that the volume I get from my Sony NW-E005 MP3 player is higher using these headphones compared to my previous ones. I understand that european regulation limits the... more info
Dissapointed I've had a couple of pairs of Sony Fontopia headphones and have been really happy with the performance of them for the price, ok I had one pair where the cable covering fell apart, but Sony have corrected that. I opted for a pair of these as I thought I'd go up a gear, but am really quote dissapointed with the result considering the rave reviews on them. Awful I had MDR-EX85's but they broke so I decided to use the opportunity to upgrade to the MDR-EX90's. What a waste of a wad of money, it sounds like you are listening to music underwater!! I am all for more base but not at the total expense of clarity and treble - totally muffled even on Ipod Treble booster setting! I've had to go straight out and buy another pair of headphones and I decided for the first time ever to move away from Sony and buy a pair of Sennheiser CX-300's at a third of the price of the... more info
Poor quality, poor sound Bought these on recommendation but have regretted the purchase.
These were to replace my Bose in-ear phones which I managed to break. These phones feel very light, the cable is very thin and the sound quality seems inaudible. They give off too much bass and I can hardly hear anything else. Although the fitting is good and they wont slip whilst running, you do need to turn the sound up quite a bit to hear decent sounds.
I listen to alot of Soul and R&B and these simply dont cut it.... more info
