Things I would want to know BEFORE I bought the Nuvi 310 Pros
* Long Battery life
* Has a Bluetooth connection, Audio book, MP3 and you can purchase add ons like the traffic management aerial/European maps and the maps and firmware are upgradeable.
* It has a detour button so if you suddenly find the road blocked it will navigate a different route Cons
* The biggest problem for me is that it doesn't have a "direction arrow window" of the up coming turn, so you have to follow the white arrow (wherever it is on the map), my old Route 66... more info
Garmin Nuvi 310 Im a little bit of a gadget phobic, however, as my work involves a great deal of travel I needed a SAT NAV. I went for this one after looking at reviews and found it : THICKIE PROOF even I can tap in an address and postcode with this system and the hands free mobile connection is really easy to use. Large screen, easy assembly took me about 5 mins, also if you need to record where you have arrived its simple and saves the journey in its memory. I love it and would not be without it highly recommended.
Nearly but not quite I've had this unit for about a year now and used it around Guernsey and for forays to the UK. At home it has some strange ideas about the quickest route but will happily recalculate if you decide against going down any particular lane. A disappointment Having had this unit for 10 months I've gone back to working out my route in a map book and using the Garmin only as a means of seeing where my next turn is coming up. I downloaded the trial speed camera software and didn't bother to take up the regular subscription because it misses so many fixed speed cameras. However, the absolute best was that it couldn't find a main road full of Victorian houses, so either they mapped the area prior to 1837 or their accuracy leaves much to be desired.
