  • Check out the deluxe version
Talking Elephant have issued a deluxe version of this CD in June 2008. I have the deluxe version myself and it is really nicely packaged, although all the music is the same as on this release. Amazon's Product Description for the new disc explains the history of this album, and what you get with the new release. So you can check it out I quote from it here:
    "Album Description
LARK RISE TO CANDLEFORD was originally
released in 1980 on vinyl and had a very brief short release on CD in 1991.... more info

  • My first folk LP
This record was my first folk LP when it was first issued in the days of vinyl. When I could afford a CD player I repurchased it on CD. The music at the time was stunning and remains so and even though I still have the LP of this album I had to buy it once it became available... more info

  • A fantastic blast from the past!
If like me you are a fan of electric folk music you will be familiar with Ashley Hutchins legendary status in the genre. His vast work with the Albion band has spanned over 4 decades. This work is a landmark in as much as it contains much traditional music interspersed with readings from Flora Thompson's wonderful account of Hamlet life in Oxfordshire in the years leading up to the First World War.
The music is treated with great respect, in spite of purists saying that an electric guitar and drum kit... more info
