  I struggled with the voice tracker.
  The instruction books and text size is too small and is dfficult for me to read. The Phillips voice tracker is also too small and therefore the buttons are difficult to see and understand for new users. I expect it will be OK when I have used this item more but a disappointing start.
  So far the Dragon software looks very promising.

  I have tried various versions of dictation software over the past 10 years (IBM ViaVoice, Dragon Dictate etc) and found them to be wanting. So I was sceptical about investing yet again in a type of software application that had previously disappointed.   I have had this software for only a week, and have been very impressed. I bought it for planning and writing assignments for an MSc. course, and so didn't expect it to recognise many of the technical terms and references, including names. However, I have been very pleasantly surprised. I tend to mumble and have a Midlands 'twang' which I thought would cause problems - but it has coped admirably. There are some annoying moments when it doesn't reconise a command, but there are facilities to 'train' it on... more info

• Superb time saver
  I can't say enough good things about this product. I need to work wherever I am and the Philips recorder is sleek and easy to use. Unlike previous comments, I had no trouble hooking it up and loading my words into my word processing programme. A little bit of editing perhaps, but much, much faster than keying in from scratch. This gizmo is goig to change my life!
