Waste Of Money Basically, previous to this I was using a HDMI to DVI converter for my TV, the problem here was that DVI does not carry sound and therefore I had to buy an audio jack for it. All of this was very cheap and effective but when I saw this product I thought it would be much simpler to buy this, so I purchased it and plugged it in and was simply appaled. HDMI vs HD component I got this a few weeks back because I had a 5.1 surround sound system which I could't use unless I had one of these cables. I was worried about loosing the quality in which the HDMI cables gave me but was willing to take the chance to have surround sound. I'm so glad i did, the picture quality looks exactly the same...and I have good very good eye sight. Everything from music from my hard drive, blu-ray movies and the games now sound and look amazing.
