Saves. no restore -AVOID! Having bought this and used it for over 100 days to backup my computer, I then had a problem and had to move from the save function to the restore function. Hours of phone calls to support diagnosing v2isr.exe errors, downloading new versions of the disk, brought no relief. I was then told by symantec, that I required a cd-rom burner and software to move onwards...something you'll note was not on the list of their system requirements, so add £100 to the cost of the software to make it... more info
norton save& restore 2 o.k. I suppose BUT only if you have hours to spare. there is NO incremental backup ONLY full & complete each & every time
If you've got Vista DON'T BUY THIS!!! I've used Norton products for years quite happily. Until now. There are no two ways about it, this software simply doesn't work and technical support don't seem to be able to make it work. I've not tried a restore yet. But backing up files and folders is a one off thing. Try doing an incremental backup and it just fails time after time. Technical support gave me some XP instructions for clearing it which I was left to convert into Vista, but there was no point because it didn't work... more info
Not good with Vista I have used Norton Ghost versions 9 and 10 and both have given excellent results. I have recommended Ghost to a number of my customers and it has always been successful. I expected Save & Restore 2 to be just as good but also compatible with Vista, so you can imagine my disappointment when this new version seems to have so many problems.
