Shure don't last long... I was originally bought a pair of E3C's as a Christmas present in 2006. The sound quality is undeniably fantastic, and as a commuter the sound deadening is a godsend. The problem is that they don't last long. The first pair of E3C's lasted about 6 months, the second pair the same. By the time the last pair came along the E3C's had been replaced, so I got a pair of SE210's... which also lasted 6 months. Problems have ranged from the speakers stopping, to the cord breaking. Finally. Decent headphones! It took me hours searching this site looking for some new headphones. I had some requirements: 1. Needed the music to sound awesome.
2. Wanted the headphones to look good (not like ear-muffs).

I found the rumble of the engines was excluded to the point where I had to listen for it, and I could get happily... more info
Noise isolation is great though sound is a little uninvolving Where these headphones really excel is the noise isolation they give from the world around you. I'm quite happy using these whilst walking alongside a busy road or on the tube, nothing really gets in the way. I listen to about a fifty/fifty mixture of music and spoken word. For the latter they are great but for music they are a little lacking in dynamism. Yes, the bass isn't very deep but I don't think that's the issue. The clarity is certainly there but somehow the music lacks the attack that gets you... more info
