Dreadful - Don't waste your time Filmed entirely in split-screen I found this unwatchable. In addition I felt the script could have been written by a twelve year old. Finally in just about every scene Helena Bonham Carter has the appearence of someone who is admiring themselves in a mirror. Why doesn't this review system allow you to give zero stars? So this is one star on a scale of two to five!
Do skip this film unles you hate yourself. Everything bad said about this film, is absolutely true. It deserves no star, but apparantly you cannot make a review without a star. But here we see two great stars misused by the directors ill used fantasy and flip flop back and forth which makes the film a disaster.
Personally, I liked it. The first viewing made me want to watch it again, but I left it a week before I did so. I found this a witty, interesting and enjoyable tale. If you can't get past the split-screen, then fair enough, but if you can, stick with it. I enjoyed it with the split-screen anyway. Helena Bonham Carter and Aaron Eckhart give wonderful performances, in my opinion, and I would recommend the film.
Don't bother Not the worst film I've ever seen but one I was happy to talk over - not rivetting! I didn't mind the split screen but it should have been used more judiciously. I thought the male lead was miscast and he was cold and unsympathetic. It was a film that was impossible to warm to and had virually no plot line. Quite annoying really. Low budget for sure as not even cinematically interesting.
