Editorial Review:
User friendliness and comfort of use come together in the slimline YP-U3JQB MP3 player from Samsung! Compatible with different audio formats (including MP3 and OGG), this ultra compact and lightweight player has a blue LED indicator and a retractable USB port that doesn?t hinder its elegance or style. In order to make your listening experience as comfortable as possible, the YP-U3JQB comes with an equaliser with 12 predefined modes, a customisable mode and a 4-mode 3D DNSE sound function. Its blue OLED screen gives you all the information you need about the track being played, and displays ID3 tags. It even has a host of touch buttons that literally melt into the body of the player, allowing you to navigate through its functions with ease. The YP-U3JQB is equally equipped with a useful voice recording function, so you can record vocal memos, and an RDS FM tuner that lets you enjoy your favourite radio stations. Finally, its internal battery lets you listen to non-stop music from your player on one single recharge, giving you nothing but musical pleasure!

Another failure for the Samsung YP range This is the second YP player I have purchased from Samsung, the first was the 1gb k3jzb (oh my God) try to avoid these products, both have same quirks, they stick on repeat mode without any prompting; the shuffle is limited to about 10 tracks; It decides to switch itself off when it feels like. I also had a large blue line running vertically through the display. When I returned the player to Samsung - Under Warranty - I was greeted with the most negative "customer" services team you could ever encounter.... more info
Nice player but too much Design-With-A-Capital-D My son bought this with his hard-earned pocket money and I agree with other reviewers that in most respects, it's a very nice MP3 player. It allows you to resume listening at the same point in the middle of a track after switching the player off for a while, you can search for tracks by Artist, Album, Genre, etc, fast-forwarding through tracks is fairly quick and it has quite good FM radio reception. There are two problems with it which might be significant for some purchasers. One is the... more info
Attractive versatile player I really like this stylish little player, although there are some snags. The controls, being touch-sensitive, are a little tricky at first, but I soon got used to them. You need to use the key-lock all the time to avoid key errors, and here's a slight irritation - if you touch a button with the key-lock on, there's a beep, so when I had it in my pocket, key-locked, there was a series of beeps whenever the keys touched anything. Fortunately you can turn the beep off in the Settings menus.

Great compatibility for non-Windows users I am very happy with this gadget. I wanted a music player I can use with either Windows or my preferred Ubuntu Linux machine, and this does the trick nicely. It plays ogg vorbis (along with the other usual suspects). This device uses the MTP protocol to communicate with the host system. This is now supported on Linux. I'm using the RhythmBox software that comes with Ubuntu/GNOME. Note that you have to explicitly enable the MTP plug-in. Anyway, very happy. Good sound, good features, bargain price!
