Temperamental beast Dont buy unless you have a lot of patience and money to waste!! Often hangs on bootup and requires a number of resets for it to boot (its done this from day 1, but steadily getting worse). Now its stopped detecting any SD card (tried 4) and reports a card error every time. Very disappointing because what it claims to do would be great if it worked properly!! Sending it back under warranty and see if their customer service is any better!!
Bargain archos If you are into Archos this is a great little product.
By forgoing the hard disk, this becomes the cheapest archos that does what I want, as the noise and vibration from spinning disks are removed. The Wifi network conection allows me to use my Windows home server as storage device and stream files accross my network. Files can be copied back and forth to your network storage with ease. Best gadget ever Yes many of the reviews make valid negative points but I love this little toy which with the addition of a dvr station, is a fantastic and flexible recording propostion. Although if you have tv card in your computer not sure how really necessary it is. So far 1 week owned, no issues just lots of joy.
