Editorial Review:

BEST ALL-ROUNDER "searches automatically for the best frequency in the area and finds it in seconds"

At a touch of a button, the iStuff AutoScan FM will search the airwaves for the clearest FM frequency (or frequencies) in your area - so you don't have to! Then, as an added little bonus for the super lazy, you can save up to four of the clearest frequencies to use instantly or at a later date.

We've tested this FM transmitter to the point of torture, and not only did it not break but it really does automatically find the clearest FM frequency for you. The sound it delivers is as good as having the band play live in your car or home!

We know you’ll also fall for the iStuff's sleek design, sexy two-tone finish and crystal clear LCD display. So connect the iStuff to your iPod and get ready to listen to your music wirelessly through your radio!

The stylish new AutoScan FM Transmitter from iStuff looks great, sounds even better and automatically scans for the clearest FM frequencies.

More technology driven than the Griffin iTrip, the iStuff FM transmitter automatically seeks out the clearest FM frequencies available in your area with just one touch of the Scan/Memory button. Once the iStuff FM transmitter has found the clearest frequencies you can save them on iStuff FM transmitter's four memory channels. The saved FM channels can then be selected by pressing the Scan/Memory button. Simply connect the iStuff AutoScan FM Transmitter to your audio player via the standard 3.5mm headphone port, activate your audio player and music will play wirelessly through your radio! And if no audio source is found for 55 seconds the iStuff AutoScan FM Transmitter will turn off automatically saving you power for the times you really want to hear your music! Also, you don't need to worry about power - the iStuff FM transmitter is supplied with an AAA battery that will deliver up to 18 hours of power and also includes a car power supply that connects to your car's cigarette lighter to supply power to the FM transmitter

Far outshining all other FM transmitters (including the Griffin iTrip), the iStuff AutoScan is perfect for any audio source including iPods, MP3 players and other portable audio devices.

    • Poor product life take 2
This worked well for the first 6 months of its life and then gave up the ghost. Perhaps a few of the rave reviewers of this product will find a similar story. Returned the item to the manufacturer/distributor but no reply.

    • Whistle while you listen
I was initially pleased with the icast transmitter, using it at home to play MP3s on the PC through a separates system, without the need for wires trailing across the floor.
The high-pitched whistle which comes and goes with the peaks in volume becomes tiring and irritating. I would imagine it is less noticeable through a car stereo, where the background noise is greater.
Assuming it's not a problem confined to my unit, this apparent design flaw makes it difficult to recommend.

    • FM transmitter that works as it says on the tin
A fantastic FM transmitter. I've been using this whilst driving around the UK to transmit from an MP3 to a generic Volvo radio. In my car, the radio aerial is at the rear and I have the transmitter sat loose on the passenger front seat with the MP3 player; this works fine. A couple of tips when using this transmitter:
      (1) I've found it works best when powered from the 12V cig lighter of the car. When powered from the AA cell it doesn't have sufficient power for a clear FM signal.
      (2) Don't use the... more info

    • Excellent sound quality - very easy to use!
I wasn't expecting too much from this product given it's one of the cheapest FM transmitters going. However, after using it for a few days with my iPod Nano, I can confirm it really is a top performer.
Hold down the autoscan button to set the scan going. It very quickly acquires 4 frequencies it thinks are free of other broadcasts and stores them as presets for easy access. Tune your car radio into the first preset and away you go. As you're driving along, you will come into range of different... more info
