Video editing - forget it!! The Roxio Easy Media packages always appear to be packed with lots of programs promising much for your money. Indeed they do but some of the promises tend to be empty in my experience. Most of the features work apart from video editing - I have versions 7, 9 and 10 (the latter was bundled free with a new PC) and can't get any of them to actually produce a video. I can go through the process of assembling scenes (on a good day) but then it will freeze, shut down, inform me `there is no common data... more info
Caveat Emptor This software is incapable of importing files correctly created in Canon camcorders which work OK with Premiere Elements. It imports 16-9 aspect ratio files as 4-3. The best the help desk can do is suggest using a shareware programme to rset the 16-9 flag. It made no difference. Just have a look in the help FAQ and look at the phaff involve in getting a clean install!!!!! I am a retired IT professional and rate this software and Roxio help as totally incapable. Good for starting out I wasn't really into making alot of video's or anything, mainly because what came with the computer was so simple. This is a step up. It worked wonderfully. I'm not into reading manuals but picked this up pretty easily with some trial and error. The manual is easy to understand though.

Easy Media Creator Suite 10 - Why 5 stars? Looking at the reviews on Amazon the average was between 2 and 3. On closer examination they were mainly Ones or Fives. Having bought previous Sonic and Roxio material I could understand why. The CD and DVD copying facilities were spot on but converting old video tapes to DVD were a pain in the ass because it took years (well 8 hours at least!) to convert a normal video tape to DVD.
