classic? i ordered this for my ipod classic because for some reason apple think you don't need a mains charger and i refuse to pay their ridiculous price the ipod cost enough. arrived saying it was for an ipod nano but it looks like the above picture so i took a risk, it did charge my classic and switches off so the ipod doesn't get overcharged. i am pretty sure the seller put the wrong name in because the box calls it a universal charger.
Appalling product I plugged this in, attached my ipod and within 30 minutes there was a popping sound and then a burning smell. I unplugged it and luckily it hadn't damaged the ipod but needless to say the charger doesn't work anymore. I plugged it in the following morning but it seems to have burned itself out. I know it's cheap, but actually a product that doesn't work is expensive, no matter what it costs.
You get what you pay for.... It's a pretty poor piece of equipment - poorly built. It does not charge ipods whilst in their docks. Tried it on both a nano and 80G classic. Charges them both seperately though.
"iPod Classic 80GB Charger Mains White" In my view, this is a superb product! It is most certainly well designed: I've found it more efficient than charging my iPod Classic 80GB in a dock. It's conveniently portable; my colleagues continually comment on its transparency and its sort of sky blue florescent glow. I must agree with the reviewer who indicates this product does well what it was designed to do. I can only imagine that a 1 star rating must have been the result of a one off faulty item.
