How good is it? With two crisp-sounding treble speakers flanking your iPod (any model will fit in the dock, naturally), and a mini bass woofer chugging away at the back, the iDS-05 can cope with anything from Ed Harcourt to happy hardcore. Why would you spend more? There are some really high-quality systems availabke from luxury brands such as Bose, but this little black box makes paying top dollar for a dock unnecessary.
Sound it out! Intempo’s latest iPod speaker is sleek, sexy and all about the music. Do not be fooled by the compact exterior; the 15watt speaker is capable of fantastic quality audio in a very small space. The super stylish look and competitive price means it is also affordable as a second music system for the kitchen or bedroom at home. It measures a desk-, kitchen- or bedroom-friendly 230 x 122 x 940mm and is available in high gloss piano black, white and silver.
Ideal for all iPod formats and general audio devices such as MP3 and mini disc, the iDS-05 really does sound as good as it looks. The built-in dock will handily play, charge and sync your iTunes and the USB port enables easy connection to a Mac or PC to ensure your music or photo library is always updated.
The iDS-05 also comes with a much-loved 12 key remote control. In addition to the basic play, pause, fast forward and rewind functionality, the slim line remote will adjust the treble and bass and has a sophisticated menu button which will allow you to directly access your iPod listings and select your music, giving you greater control from your sofa.

A typical mid range dock We bought this as a birthday present for the Mother-In-Law.
Unfortunately I am comparing it against the Klipsch Dock (which I have) and a Bose dock (which a friend has) and it lacks something. It sounds like a big radio, the spatial sound just isn't there; it does have a bit of punch, due to the rear woofer, but to get the most of it I would suggest putting it infront of a wall.
I would recommend spending another £50 and buying the Klipsch, if you don't have another £50 to spend -... more info
Great value quality speakers Got this for my son, as a bedroom set up for his new Ipod Nano. Expected a tinny sound and feel but what we get is a good build quality unit with very good sound quality indeed. I've heard units twice the price and this shames them by miles.
Can't recommend these enough.
GREAT! I concur with the other reviews I've read on the black version of this product-these speakers are great. Really good sound-in my conservatory they sound almost orchestral and are well worth the money. They don't go super loud but I find the volume levels more than adequate. Probably not suitable for a party.
When I opened the box and saw 'not compatible with shuffle' my heart sunk as this was not made apparent. However, you can use the speakers with a shuffle due to the line-out cable that is supplied... more info
