Superb Cast Recording I was lucky enough to see the musical in New York in October and bought the soundtrack there. The music really is the best thing about it, new catchy songs have been added and are all as good as the originals that feature in the film. Sherie Rene Scott in particular who plays the villain Ursula really stands out on the soundtrack, her version of 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' is better than that of the film version and she also has a few more songs in the soundtrack that have been added to the musical but... more info
Outstanding musical I have always loved Walt Disney's The Little Mermaid so was quite shocked that they was a cast recording of this film. The question being, would I like this musical? Well the answer is YES. This Broadway cast recording has all the songs from the film plus some new show tunes. My personal favourite is Kiss The Girl but I think that will have to take second place, as my favourite song in this new musical is called If Only. That song to me is outstandingly beautiful.
