Does exactly what I expected. I bought one of these cards, added some RAM as appropriate, downloaded and copied the latest firmware to the chip, then copied on a number of ROMs to try, and bingo! Works like a charm. While it's a product for the technically-minded, it's not rocket science. If you've copied pictures to/from a camera's memory card, the process is the same. Greatly expands the capabilities of the DS, very pleased with mine.
9 times out of ten they ain't real nowadays... The R4 is probably one of the pioneers in 2nd generation DS modding. Personally, I think they still came up with the best one at the time and set the standard. However, take my word for it that they haven't been producing any chips since last year. Plenty have tried to jump on the bandwagon, claiming to be the "next" generation R4. Trust me, they're not. N5, R4 v3, etc. Some have even cloned the original R4 website (the original is R4ds.com, the fake one is R4ds.net or something like that). So how... more info
