The Panasonic SDR-S7 is a lightweight, compact camcorder that you can take just about anywhere with you, as you would a small digital camera. The SDR-S7 records images to MPEG2 format directly onto an SD or SDHC card, and is resistant to shocks and bumps. It's ready for action in just 0.6 secs, thanks to the Quick Start function, and has Joystick navigation and a large 2.7” LCD screen for maximum user-friendliness. Besides all these features, the SDR-S7 includes an 800,000-pixel CCD sensor, so you can capture all those special moments as soon as they happen. There is also a USB 2.0 port and a PictBridge connection, allowing you to transfer images quickly and easily to a computer or printer. Disappointed The good thing about this camera is its size - it is extremely small and fits easily into a shirt pocket. This is a big plus if you want something that is portable. I was also quite impressed with the sound quality from this camera. However, overall I was disappointed with the camera - particularly in relation to the picture quality which I thought was very poor. sdr-s7 .... wonderfull First, thanks to Amazon for supurb delivery once again. As for the sd7 camcorder, well its great and easy to use once you get used to how small it is. Stills are not as good as from my digital camera, but the video quality is very good while in mpg4 format. The software in not as user friendly and needs learning, but once you spend the time to master it, then the results are pleasing. Uploading to sites like dailymotion and youtube in mpg4 takes a long time, so its worth converting to asf when saving.... more info
Great Budget Option Bought this once I had returned the truly shocking Aiptek AHD200 for a refund (see other reviews). This is much more like the decent budget camera I was after. It's never going to compete with a £400-£500 camera, but I never expected it to. Absolutely brilliant! I bought a Canon camcorder only 6 months ago and never really got on with it as it was not really small enough to fit in a pocket and only recorded for 30 minutes onto mini dvds so I decided to get this tiny Panasonic and it is FANTASTIC! I took it to Sri Lanka on my holiday and with an 8gb SDHC memory stick I recorded for over 4 hours.
