A pocket wonder This hard disk drive is not much bigger than a mobile phone - 12.6cm x 7.9cm x 1.5cm - and holds a whopping 250Gb. This makes is the perfect back-up drive that you can take with you. I carry mine in my laptop bag, so that should my laptop hard disk fail I have all my data with me and can still work. Assuming I can borrow a PC or laptop that is. Little drive but big use. This is such a good little drive. I love the design. It's simple, rounded corners and has a white LED in form of a USB symbol that blinks when transfers are taking place.
It came formatted for Windows with some preloaded software that I couldn't test because I use a MacBook Pro. I used OS Xs Disk Utility to partition it as a GPT drive and it's working great. Perfect For Time Machine On A MacBook I just bought a white My Book Passport Essential for use with a white Apple MacBook laptop. Western Digital have clearly been inspired by Apple's design, what with the drive's heavily rounded corners, white USB cable and white power light.
