A life of its own Flora Thompson's novels have been published and republished and Lark Rise to Candleford has even been done as "The Illustrated---" and the "Recipe Book".
Plus there was I think a stage play and definitely the album by the Albion Band
Shades of The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady which was a TV series in the 70s and the recent series bore little resemblance to Flora Thompson's life from the 2 or 3 episodes I saw before I gave up.

A classic in the making I bought this after seeing the performance in Buckingham. Firstly it is not a re-recodring of Lark Rise to Candleford but a new album with different music. All of the performances are as you would expect with this line up great. My favourite track is 'Til the time we meet again' which brings a tear to my eye every time, but 'Queenies bees', 'I have a bonnet' and 'Laura's song' are also particularly good both as songs in themselves and in getting accross the mixture of lifestyle and emotions that life held... more info
