A feature-length adventure that bases itself around the universe of Stargate SG-1, Continuum makes the most of the increased budget clearly available, and serves up a hugely enjoyable, action-packed slice of science-fiction that makes you wish they’d all hurry up and make the next instalment.

Stargate: Continuum follows on from the earlier feature-length The Ark Of Truth, and it focuses on a staple storyline of science fiction television, the alternate timeline. In this instance, it’s an Earth where the Stargate simply hasn’t been discovered, and nobody has any knowledge of the crew’s adventures.

Wisely using this story mechanic as a basis rather than the main thrust of Stargate: Continuum, the action soon focuses on a well-realised attempt by the Ba’al to conquer Earth. It’s exciting stuff, and while the credits arguably roll a little too early, it’s very welcome work from the SG-1 favourites that builds up to a strong outing for all concerned. And in the midst of them is the returning Richard Dean Anderson as O’Neill, and very welcome he is too.

Stargate: Continuum makes good use of both the extended running time that a feature offers, as well as the extra resources that were clearly available in front of and behind the camera. It’s inevitably going to be enjoyed most of all by SG-1’s fanbase, but there’s plenty in here too for the casual science-fiction enthusiast. --Jon Foster

This second feature-length film based in the STARGATE SG-1 universe, a follow-up to STARGATE - THE ARK THE TRUTH, finds the SG-1 crew attending the execution of the nefarious Ba'al, the supposed final System Lord of the galaxies-spanning dominant alien race Goa'uld. When Teal'c and Vala suddenly evaporate into thin air, however, the rest of the crew heads back to Earth as quickly as possible in hopes to get to the bottom of their bizarre disappearances. What they find is worse than they could have ever imagined. A world in which the Stargate was never discovered awaits them, thus negating much of their own history and personal pasts. Before they can convince the military that not only did this time-tampering occur, but that it is the handiwork of Ba'al, hundreds of Go'uld ships line Earth's orbit. It's up to Maj. Gen. Jack O'Neill (MACGYVER's Richard Dean Anderson) and the rest of crew to set things right before Ba'al conquers the world in this thrilling time-travel adventure featuring a cadre of beloved characters.

• classic Stargate - DVD comes also with German and Spanish sound track
  Apart from the standard problems (paradox) with time travel this film should be a blast for any Stargate fan.
  Für deutsche Fans: diese DVD hat eine deutsche Tonspur (und eine Englische und Spanische), man kann die DVD also auch auf Deutsch geniessen und muß nicht den deutschen DVD Starttermin abwarten.

• Great Stargate
  Oh Oh the old Stargate is back I just wish we had more of Jack (its not the same without him)back to the old adversaries just loved it. If you like Stargate SG 1 the original then you will love this.
  More of the same please dont let this be the last!!!

• Better than Ark of Truth, but not quite right...
  Stargate Continuum is the second feature length special to continue the legacy of Stargate SG1. The first special, Ark of Truth, was a bit of a disappointment, Continuum however, is close to a return to form.
  The story starts with SG1 (plus General O'Neill) attending the extraction ceremony of the last remaining clone of the Goa'uld System Lord Ba'al, on a Tok'ra planet. Ba'al claims that there is some kind of plan to undo all of this, which we see come into affect when characters seemingly disappear... more info

• Stargate in the Arctic!
  After years of running round the same forest we actually get to see some of SG-1 in one of the least accessible places on Earth - the Arctic. Not only that but the US Navy actually lent one of their real submarines to the shoot, making the loan of two fighter jets by the US Air Force almost seem small in comparison. I could go on about the sheer number of guest appearances in this film, and the fact that it's got Ba'al in the lead villain role, and he's probably the most popular Stargate villain ever...
