| Fashion Trends for 2009 Every year brings
a new set of fashions are looks for the year ahead, and 2009 is no exception!
As ever, fashion is about having fun, expressing yourself and enjoying what you
wear - and increasingly seeking individuality in a look and interpreting the latest
hot fashions. Trends for womenFor women 2009 brings about a huge
range of influences and trends. In evening wear, sheer fabrics such as chiffon
and lace seem set to continue in popularity, with the one shoulder look returning
with a bang. Fringing is also set to be key, as is statement jewellery
- from necklaces to bangles and cocktail rings. The grecian look will also
return strongly for evening wear, with sheer and classic designs being a key feature
- running the range of mini dresses to full length maxi dresses. The look will
be softly feminine and girly, with butterflies due to replace stars as the year's
motif, and jewel embellished hems, necklines and accessories continuing to feature
strongly. The fairy tale look is also set to be a key influence in evening
and wedding wear - with opulent silhouettes, sheer floaty fabrics and romantic
detailing all having their place. Again, this look will diffuse down to more everyday
items such as day dresses and tops. For daytime looks, boyfriend jeans will continue
to be a hot look, and ripped denim will re-emerge as a key look! The most
surprising trend of all however will be the return to exposed midriffs, with crop
tops returning with a vengeance - time to hit the gym and start working on a washboard
stomach, as this fashion is somewhat unforgiving! Colour-wise, fashions
are set to move away from the metallic palette and feature a very natural colour
palette - with soft browns, oranges, greens and rusts all set to feature heavily
in 2009 fashions, along with classical beach colours of cool blues and greens,
and for urban-wear, city greys, blues and cool pinks which are reminiscent of
the city streets. Men's fashion in 2009For men, suits
will continue to be key, with classic tailoring being central to the look and
dinner jackets and tuxedos making a strong comeback (as seen in women's fashion
in 2008.) Deep v-neck tops will also be a trend for both sweaters and t-shirts
and colour-wise, it`s all about cerulean blue for men's fashion lines, along with
gold for detailing, motifs, accessories and shoes. Splashes of colour will
feature strongly in men's accessories - with chartreuse, purple and pale blues.
For the more fashion-forward, metallics will also be a brave look - either for
full suiting, or for individual pieces, and similarly Korean fashion is set to
be huge - inspired by its young bands, artists and its androgynous, clean and
urban aesthetic. As well as the high street, a great place to check out
the new fashions is to do some online browsing, or get a first glimpse of the
